Executive Lets Wins Top Accolade

A PLYMOUTH property lettings agency has won a top accolade ─ North Hill-based Executive Lets carried off a prestigious Silver honour at the Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2012 held in London at the Lancaster Hotel in Hyde Park in association with The Sunday Times and The Times and sponsored by Zoopla.co.uk. In a glittering ceremony attended by more than 450 leading agencies from all over the UK, Executive Lets took second place in the Best Single Office South West Lettings Agency category, seeing off all but one of their rivals in an intensely competitive field. They were presented with their award by celebrity Sir Matthew Pinsent, the four times Olympic rowing Gold Medalist.

Executive Lets' Managing-Director, Mariska Hastie, who attended the presentations with Senior Property Valuer, Sandy Francis, and Office Manager, Deanne Hancock, was delighted at the Agency's triumph. Deanne Hancock added: £When we went up to London, we had no idea whether we would win anything or not. When it was announced we were absolutely thrilled. We're an independent company developing our own ideas to provide the best possible service, and we felt that to win an award would give a real boost to our staff for all their hard work and would in addition bring us the prestige that such an award carries and a wider recognition for our standards and service. The judges wanted to know what set us apart from our competitors. Clearly they were impressed by how we responded and what they found.£ Executive Lets, who have a staff of eighteen handling the many areas of property management and letting, were highly commended by the judging panel, which was chaired by Christopher Hamer, the Property Ombudsman. Their judgement, which was effusively positive and complimentary said: £Executive Lets has stolen a march on competitors with its comprehensive welcome pack for tenants, which includes 24-hour emergency contact numbers, guidance on how to report maintenance issues, how to pay rent and how to give notice, details about property inspections, and advice on how to keep a property in the best condition during a tenancy. It also stands alone in its undertaking of quarterly property inspections, detailed inventories and final inspections undertaken by Deposit Protection Service-trained staff. With a highly professional and friendly approach, Executive Lets has built up a great rapport with both landlords and tenants, and offers both parties consistently high service standards -- thanks to low staff turnover and a comprehensive training programme.£ The judges also praised the company's use of both Facebook and Twitter to communicate with clients, as well as their user-friendly and highly informative website.

Established in 1966, Executive Lets began as a small business managing its own portfolio of properties and then, at the request of other landlords in the area, expanded to manage their properties too. The company joined residential letting organisations so that legal knowledge and qualifications could be added to practical experience. The business grew and a bourgeoning reputation led to their moving to their current premises on North Hill. Their departments include Lettings, Accounts, Maintenance, and Property Inspectors. Their training programme and the overall employment policy with their friendly and inclusive natures, coupled with a proud professionalism, have led to great staff loyalty, many of the employees having been with the company for more than five years.
